Always seeking effective ways to help you achieve your health goals, Adéle collaborates with other professionals in designing chronic pain workshops. These workshops aim to simplify and disseminate complex information to clients, family members, and practitioners alike.

Moreover, the team at AP Therapists provides home visits, particularly beneficial post-surgery. Our practice addresses orthopedic, neurological, and chest conditions, as well as sports injuries. Conditions treated include Stroke, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, post-surgical rehabilitation, headaches, whiplash, joint pain, bronchitis, pneumonia, and more.

Additionally, the team is developing foundation movement programs for schools. These programs teach children and coaches how to enhance movement patterns, enabling early identification and management of common problems to prevent future injuries.

At AP Therapists, we are dedicated to crafting chronic pain workshops and implementing innovative programs to improve movement patterns and overall well-being.

Ivy Shih

Physiotherapist & WATSU® practitioner

Based at: Sun Valley practice
BSC. Physiotherapy (Stell) 2020

Welcome to AP Physiotherapists, my name is Ivy. I joined the AP physiotherapy team after completing my community service in rural KZN, where I gained invaluable experience with patients with varying conditions. During my community service, I also completed a dry needling course, as well as a Kinesio taping and strapping course for sports and overuse injuries. Since joining AP Physiotherapists, I have completed the International Advanced Aquatic Therapy Course.

Additionally, I began my journey of becoming a WATSU Practitioner. I will be completing my final WATSU Course in October 2023, and thereafter, I will become a qualified WATSU practitioner. Moreover, the combination of my experience in KZN and the countless weeks spent working in the stroke unit team at Tygerberg Hospital have fostered my passion for neurological rehabilitation and working with the elderly. In my experience, true healing happens beyond a daily intake of medication. I have seen the positive impact physiotherapy has had on the quality of life of many individuals.

You’ll often find me sharing my favorite healing tools in the pool. I am a firm believer that water enhances healing, activates joy, and provides a safe and thriving environment. Therefore, I see clients feeling empowered, engaged, and able to do a little more than they were capable of before.
